Instructions
Students will turn in Writing Assessment to WebCampus TURNITIN by Friday,
February 16th, by 5pm. This paper is worth 15 points for the laboratory grading.
Specific Rules for paper:
1. Students must type in WORD document (.doc, .docx) OR Rich Text Format (.rtf) to upload to TURNITIN. Other document
types (including PAGES) will not be allowed in the program. Students are expected to produce writing that contains clear and
understandable sentences, correct grammar, correct spelling, and accurate punctuation. Assignments will be evaluated on the
quality of the writing as well as evaluated on the scientific content. A grading rubric will be used to ensure consistency.
2. It should not be more than one (1) page that is single spaced, 1 inch margins, and 12pt font, TIMES NEW ROMAN. If the
paper is over 1 page, the paper will NOT be graded. This paper is not only about content, but also about the student?s ability
to edit and make concise sentences.
3. No In-Text Citations are needed. References should be given at the end of the paper (including the lab manual and textbook).
If the citations are not provided at the end of the paper, you will receive a ZERO for the paper.
4. Do not use quotes from any source. You will need to paraphrase each reference. More than 5 EXACT CONSECUTIVE
words taken from a text is considered plagiarism. If you are found similar to any other source (determined by TURNITIN
Application), you will receive a ZERO for the paper.
5. If you are retaking the class, you CANNOT upload the same document from a previous semester. This is an AUTOMATIC
ZERO, and may be reported to Student Academic Misconduct.
6. ORIGINAL diagrams may be included however concepts must still be thoroughly discussed in writing and is not included in
the 1 paper minimum.
7. No late papers will be accepted. If there are issues with uploading to WebCampus TurnItIn, you are required to contact
WebCampus Support at 702-895-0777. They will give you a ticket number and you will need to email the lab coordinator,
