The most recent article which I found on Academic Integrity was ?Embedding Academic
Integrity in Public Universities?. The article seems to be saying that more academic integrity
should be embedded into colleges, universities and students. Many state institutions of higher
learning are doing this now in order for students to maintain some form of integrity over their
own work. They are also doing this so that students can have some form of ethical behavior and
carry it back into their communities (Tauginiene, 2016). If an allegation of any kind of cheating
or academic dishonesty was formed against me, this could impact my future career of being a
parole/probation officer. This is because many people in the community may not take me serious
if I am dishonest with my own college work then, how can I be a serious and honest and
productive citizen in my community?
Present & Future Impact-This has made a positive impact on more students upholding more
academic honesty and have shown results in their coursework and other life
achievements (Tauginiene, 2016).

For this weeks research I decided to look into ethical issues in our military. The main article that
stood out to me was, Informed Consent and Ethical Issues in Military Medical Research. This
article explores the current debate and ethical stance of medical research conducted on our troops
today and the implications of consent within military command structure. Despite what you may
think, military medical research requires additional safeties designed to preserve service
members’ informed consent rights. within these safeties holds the power for soldiers to not be
influenced by their chain of command to conduct medical research. Additionally, current legal
and regulatory requirements for advanced informed consent significantly restrict the flexibility of
the military to conduct research using waiver of consent. However, the new medical consent
standards for military personnel are moving towards more normalized civilian medical consent
standards.
Articles like this one, impact our research standards as students by ensuring research and all
work is cited properly. Consent is equal to citing your sources. If you don’t have consent (cite
your work), then plagiarism is the outcome. The subsequent effects could be expulsion, failing a
grade, and un-credible work.
