For your responses, giving 2 pros and 2 cons of each to further the discussion.Here is the second student post below:What aspect of developing a treatment plan do you think is most critical to the success of the client? I believe the assessment during the first session is the most critical. During this assessment, we learn about the client and what they are currently struggling with. This is the first step to building a successful treatment plan that will benefit our client.How do you get the clients from treatment to ongoing stabilization of care? For example, do they all need to follow all of the steps from inpatient to aftercare, or can a client come in somewhere in the middle and still move forward and be successful? ?No single treatment is appropriate for everyone? (McNeece & DiNitto, 2012, p. 126). With that being said, I believe it depends on the client. Some clients may be farther along in their treatment that they do not have to go through all the steps, have been clean for an extended period, but still want help to ensure they do not relapse. Other clients may be new to treatment and need to start from the beginning to detox and learn how the process works. I do believe that it all depends on the individual.What steps might you take to increase the client?s potential for success? After the detox for the client and they have completed our program for drug and alcohol addiction, we must determine a safe and drug-free location for the client to stay. Putting the client back in the same city and the same neighborhood will only cause them to relapse. They will need to start a new life so to say. Putting our clients in a halfway house would be beneficial because they will be around individuals who have been through the same things as them. A lot of people want to be sober so they can see their kids again. Seeing people in the halfway house who also have children and want to better their selves will help a client with children have hope. They will have reason to stay sober and want to see their kids, families, spouses, or friends again.
