Response to Discussion

Minor notes of what the red team did:-A penetration test was conducted and they gained access tothe
R&D’s servers by hacking in via an unprotected network connection. There is only one firewall that seems to be protecting one side of
the R&D internet. There should of been a firewall on the opposite
side which connects the R&D to the Data center. It seems
unprotected from outside attacks because there is nothing there to
protect it.-They were able to ex filtrate files from the servers and stole 100%
of the design documents and the source code for the drone system.Once they got into the system, it would be kind of easy to make
copies of whatever they wanted. It is unsure if Sifer’s has any
anti-virus installed, or countermeasures in place to defend against a
hacked system.-Stole 20% of employee passwords using a key logging software that were installed on USB keys that was left in a public area.Employees should be trained in how to properly set up a strong
password to avoid an easy attack by key loggers, as well as avoid
placing flash drives in computers where they do not know the source, as
well as leave flash drives in public spots to be taken from someone
else.-Noticed that most employees were rather friendly and talkative,
letting them in RFID controlled doors becuase they assumed they were new
people to the company.OPSEC will need to be trained more often to prevent employees from
openly discussing any projects being worked on. Security perimeters
will also need to be in place to make sure employees with proper access
get into restricted places.-Used someones login to install malware on the network, which was
then installed onto the drone. This was then able to give the red team
control of the drone and land it in the parking lot.Proper configuration of the RF frequency was at fault, and this could
of been avoided if the frequency was changed slightly then what the
plans had discussed.
