Background
Mobile applications have become the most important tools on which educational
institutions rely on as an alternative to accessing their websites via computer. It
provides quick access to information from the university site such as grades and
schedule.
This proposal will discuss the application of Temple University. This application is
for university students in general, where they have access to their account on the
university website and review their course schedule and grades. The App gives the
access to Blackboard, Canvas and mail.
With all these features, the app still has some drawbacks that make students unwilling
to use the app on a daily basis:
1. The application is unable to keep the login for longer time, as the app ask to
login every time the application is opened.
2. The application does not have notification system that updates the user with
the alert in the university.
3. The application cannot be used as ID student or as passing card through the
gates.
4. The application do not support parking serves for the students.
Description
This proposal is to update the app from several aspects:
1. Safety
a. Adding emergency button on the top of the screen of the App, which send
alerts to the police with the current locations of the incident.
b. Add the emergency button on the smarts watch.
c. Use the app as ID student to pass the gates by having photo ID of the
student cart on the App.
d. Adding new service for losing items which sending notification to all user,
the steps of these services (item report ? police or IT review ? send the
notification).

2. System
a. keep the App login for longer time by extended it for a week or more.
Furthermore, the app could be opened by fingerprint instead of using TU
account.

Activate the apple watch app and add the notification system that camas
from the Apps and add the safety alert button.

Add notification system that alert the student if the class is cancel or if his
grade is posted in Canvas or Blackboard.
3. Parking
new feature for the App which safe time to find empty parking space with the
location.
a. save the parking spot in the map using the GPS system.
b. Book a parking space before arriving (limit 10 min).
c. parking sensor that notify the system if space is empty and alert the users if his
car moved.

4- Alerts arrive faster for students when the classes are canceled or scores are graded
through the notification system.
5- Increase the level of security in the university through reporting of losses of
